Dennis Freedman is Managing Director, Aquila Clean Energy Australia and New Zealand where he heads the company’s operations in both regions. His responsibilities extend from leading deal origination through to the end-to-end management of project development. Having led development and M&A of large scale renewables projects in excess of 2 GW as well as over $1 billion of contestable transmission assets, Dennis has more than 15 years‘ executive experience in the Australian energy industry.


Prior to Aquila, Dennis was the Head of Generation and Decarbonisation at Ampol. Preceding roles include Head of Investment and Development at Octopus Australia as well as Head of Infrastructure Investment at grid operator AusNet Services where he played an instrumental role in shaping infrastructure investments and development strategies.


Dennis is a respected voice in the industry and is currently serving as an elected board member of the Clean Energy Council.
