Briony Bennett

Briony is the Clean Electricity Lead at the New Zealand Climate Foundation, where she works to accelerate Aotearoa New Zealand’s energy transition. Prior to joining the Foundation, she was Flexibility and Digitalisation Lead at Ara Ake, bringing extensive expertise in flexibility markets, digitalisation, and distributed energy resources.

Briony began her career as an Electricity Trading Systems Analyst at the European Power Exchange after completing a Master’s degree in Energy Economics and Policy at Sciences Po in Paris. She later worked as a Renewable Energy Policy Analyst with Bloomberg New Energy Finance in London before returning to New Zealand to contribute to the country’s clean energy future.
