Roger Sutton

Roger is an innovative, influential leader with extensive experience at governance, Chief Executive and general management levels in both private sector and Government. He is currently Principal Strategy Advisor at DETA and serves as Chairperson of Chatham Islands Electricity.

Roger was CE of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority, leading the city's recovery following the devastating 2011 earthquakes. Just prior to that, he held the role of Chief Executive of Orion, New Zealand's third largest electricity network. Roger has also led strategic and operational development projects in the New Zealand energy industry and has held Directorships in generation, energy efficiency and technology industries. He is currently on the Board of Directors at Network Tasman Ltd in Nelson.
