Kavit Borkhataria
Investment Manager
Camco
Kavit Borkhataria is an Investment Manager at Camco Management Limited, an FCA-regulated, GCF-accredited fund manager with approximately USD 360 million in assets under management and offices across London, Luxembourg, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Accra, Helsinki and Sydney.
Kavit leads capital raising for TIDES (Transforming Island Development through Electrification and Sustainability), Camco's USD 100 million blended finance platform dedicated to accelerating renewable energy deployment across six Pacific Island Countries: Fiji, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, and the Cook Islands. The fund's three-tranche structure – anchored by concessional junior equity from UK FCDO and New Zealand MFAT – is designed to mobilise private capital into markets where risk-return profiles have historically deterred commercial investment.
Kavit has spent his career focussed on raising capital for renewable energy and energy transition projects across M&A Investment Banking and Fund Management, raising over NZD 2bn to date. He brings deep expertise in blended finance, project finance, and development finance structuring, with a particular focus on the intersection of private capital mobilisation and climate impact in frontier markets. He works closely with development finance institutions, family offices, and multilateral partners – including the Green Climate Fund – to close the Pacific's significant renewable energy financing gap.
