Jay Prasad is a Chartered Professional Electrical Engineer (CPEng, RPEQ) with over 30 years of experience delivering sustainable energy solutions for utilities across Australia and the Pacific. His doctoral research focuses on open-source capacity expansion modelling and integrating high renewable energy into island grids. Jay bridges industry and academia, fostering knowledge transfer and innovation through strong partnerships with regional multilateral agencies.

As the Founder and Director of Scinergy Pacific (Fiji) Pte Ltd/ Scinergy International Ltd, Jay leads a regionally based consultancy specialising in renewable energy planning, capacity expansion modelling, and institutional strengthening across the Pacific and Southeast Asia. A strong advocate for regionally led solutions, he delivers techno-economic assessments, on-/off-grid solutions, capacity building and training, and owner’s engineer services—supporting governments, utilities, and development partners in accelerating the region’s energy transition.
