Senikavika Jiuta is the Chief Executive Officer of the Fijian Competition & Consumer Commission (FCCC) and the first woman to hold this position. Senikavika has more than 15 years of legal experience, having served the bench and worked extensively in the regulatory field. Senikavika leads FCCC’s mission to deliver regulatory excellence aligned with international best practices while remaining grounded in Fiji’s unique economic and social context as a Small Island Developing State. She is passionate about serving Fijian consumers and advancing strategic regulatory initiatives, strengthening internal frameworks, and promoting sustainable economic practices.
Under Senikavika’s leadership, FCCC places strong emphasis on enhancing competition in markets to prevent monopolistic behaviours, curb restrictive trade practices, and foster a level playing field for businesses. Senikavika champions policies that encourage innovation, fair trade, and consumer choice, recognizing that competitive markets are essential for economic resilience and inclusive growth. Senikavika is also a strong advocate for sustainability and gender equality. She is spearheading FCCC’s commitment to adopt green regulatory practices, integrate climate conscious policies, and support Fiji’s broader sustainable
development agenda.
Additionally, Senikavika is driving FCCC’s journey towards achieving the Gender Equality Seal for Public Institutions, reinforcing her dedication to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities at all levels of the organization. Senikavika’s leadership is focused on advancing strategic enforcement, promoting competitive neutrality, fostering regional cooperation, and ensuring regulatory frameworks that support sustainable and inclusive economic growth for all Fijians.
